Car hire in Reading

Reading is located just west of London and is only a 30 minute train journey from London's Paddington station. Reading has recently opend a big shopping complex in the centre of the city.

One of the main attractions is the Hobgoblin pub located in the city centre around a 5-10 minute walk from the train station, the pub is famous for its real ales, selling a different variety everyday.

The author cannot recommend this pub highly enough - in a world of bland corporate chain pub franchises, this little piece of genuine Englishness , quirkiness and eccentricity (just look at the enormous collection of beer mats covering the entire inner walls of the pub!), is well worth the journey.

Reading is more than just pubs though, the UK's premier Rock Festival is held at Rivermead every August bank holiday. There are Park and Ride services on major routes into the town, and good train and bus links.
