Car hire in Bury St Edmunds
Birthplace of the Magna Carta, Bury St. Edmunds was once home to the magnificent Abbey of St. Edmund, the ruins of which you can still visit today. The surrounding Abbey Gardens are a wonder to behold during the summer months and if you’re lucky you may just catch an al fresco performance of Shakespeare.
Other Historic Sights include Manor House Museum, the tiny Theatre Royal, the 200-year-old Greene King Brewery and Britain’s smallest pub, the Nutshell. One of the more unusual attractions is St Edmundsbury Cathedral the only incomplete cathedral in Britain. Bury St. Edmunds is also a great place to visit the many fascinating rural villages in the area including Cavendish, Ixxworth and the Anglo Saxon village at West Stow.
