Car hire in Birmingham Airport

Serving the greater Midlands area, Birmingham International Airport has become one of the largest in the UK, handling half a million passengers a month. Two terminals cope amply with flights to destinations throughout Europe and limited long-haul flights. Their Eurohub terminal features an innovative ‘hub and spoke’ design which places all passengers within a maximum 250m distance from their boarding gate.

There are two terminals at the airport: Terminal 1 (Main international terminal) and Terminal 2 (Eurohub). Both terminals have the check-in desks located on the ground floor, with the departures area on the first floor. Arrivals baggage collection, customs and immigration, and meeting areas are found on the ground floors of each terminal. The two terminals are connected by the Millenium link.

Currency exchange bureaux are located on both levels of each terminal and remain open during flight times, ATMs are also scattered about the terminals. Both terminals have designated smoking areas, usually within the leisure and refreshments areas. A left luggage facility is located on the first floor of Terminal 1, next to Boots (open: 05:00 – 23:00). Prayer rooms are also provided in both terminals. For the convenience of arriving passengers, a Spar convenience store is located on the ground floor of Terminal 1 and the Airport's first aid facilities are available 24 hours daily.

Birmingham International Airport has been well planned to include a large number of well known UK outlets in Terminal 1, these include WHSmith, Boots, Salisbury’s, Thorntons, Claire’s accessories and even a National Trust shop, located at various points on the ground or first floor. In Terminal 2 there is an extensive complex of duty free shopping on the first floor, as well as a food and drink precinct, including buffet resturants, coffeshops, bars and a deli. There is also a games room.
